I have been getting dull upper back and chest aches and my chest, back and neck feel tight. I also sometimes feel like I’m taking in too much air like a panic attack, but different. Aside from this, I have been feeling my usual acid in the esophagus, bloated feeling. I’m confused as to whether it is a flu or cold or not because last night I had a slight fever? Is anyone else getting these symptoms? Any doctors on here that can tell me if this sounds more like a viral infection or acid reflux?

I am a nanny and I watch two amazing kids who are 3 and 5. Unfortunately, the 3 year old is HIGHLY allergic to dairy products and has acid reflux. He is so limited in what he can eat, but he loves to cook. The problem is that he can never eat anything that we make. I need quick easy recipes that the kids can help out with that don’t use eggs, milk, or products from either of these. They love desserts. Any suggestions?
No butter…

I have a jack russell terrier pug mix. We had her to the vet the end of February to get her vaccines and then took her 3 days later to get her teeth cleaned. They ended up pulling one of her teeth but they gave her an antibiotic so she wouldn’t get an infection. She was pretty groggy they day of the cleaning and most of the following day. Then she started throwing up her food and drink. We took her back to the vet and they gave us Centrine to settle her stomach down and the vet told us to put her on a white rice and chicken diet (blan). She started eating and drinking again and was able to keep her food down but she started throwing up this mucus. But she doesn’t do this everyday some days she acts completely normal and the next she is back to throwing up. So we took her back to the vet and got xrays done to make sure that she didn’t have a blockage and the only thing the vet found from the xray was she had a gas build up in her small intestines. So he said she had acid reflux and to give her a 1/2 tablet of Pepcid and 1 tablespoon yogurt before bed. So we did this and she took the 1/2 tablet of Pepcid but wouldn’t touch her food or drink. Then we gave her the tablespoon of yogurt before bed and she threw up about a half hour later. Called the vet the next morning and he told us to stop the Pepcid and the yogurt that he thinks instead of her throwing up and heaving that she is coughing up this mucus. He then said she might have a little bit of a sinus drip and just to continue on with the Centrine. She went Wednesday, Thursday and Friday no problems back to her full of energy self. Then this morning when I woke I seen 7 piles of this mucus she has been throwing up. She is on the way to the vet again but has anything similar happen to anyone else?
We have another dog and he is fine no problems with him but he is much bigger then she is. She is only a little over 4 years old and has never had any health problems before. She weighs about 17 pounds. The vet said no infection from where the tooth was pulled either. Just curious to see if anyone else had a problem similar to this.

His stools are yellow and have a mixture of brown which is sometimes shiny. Does anyone else have their child on enfamil with rice and have the same colored stools? I just want to know what to look for in case its a milk allergy, or if this is the way he digests the rice.

You would think that Apple Cider Vinegar would be the last thing anyone would want to take for Acid Reflux. But As it turns out; many say it really works!
http://www.stockwellfarms.com/apple_cider_vinegar_testimonials.htm
Well the argument is that Acid reflux is caused by not enough acid rather than too much. So the Vinegar acts as a way of balancing it. Things like Milk actually neutralize stomach acid making digestion more difficult. And some antacids get rid of all stomach acid which is not something you want to do!
When you take the Vinegar it will make you belch. Thats normal. I would not recommend taking alot of it! you know all you need is a tablespoon in a glass of water or juice. Acid reflux is caused by a surge of stomach acid. The surge comes as the body lacks acid and all of a sudden realizes that it must produce acid. the result is: Huge amounts of acid start pouring into your stomach as the body tries to replace what isn’t there. Antacids actually are very harmful. Because they eliminate all of the acid. And when you eat the body has to pour in enormous amounts to replace what the antacids took away. Vinegar helps to balance the acid in your stomach.
Well anymore I would be more worried about the motives of the FDA. I’m not saying All Doctors are bad people. I take Apple Cider Vinegar for other things besides acid reflux. To say Vinegar is harmful would be saying to remove just about everything you eat! All condiments contain vinegar! Its the “Cheap Distilled” Vinegar but its everywhere!
You have to have stomach acid! You would not live long without it! I wouldn’t have a problem with the antacids if they eliminate “some” of the acid. But instead they eliminate “all” of the acid. This can really put your G.I. tract out of wack!

I’ve had a chronic loose productive cough with asthma attack for 2 years. Chest x-rays taken said they were clear. Months ago a doctor told me it was probably acid reflux cough without heartburn.
With diet and stomach protective pills daytimes cough attacks after meals are now very rare but still I wake up at night (between 1AM and 3AM) coughing and expelling mucus. Sitting for 30/60 minutes makes the symptom disappear and sleeping the rest of the night is perfect. Asthma inhalers spray helps a lot because it makes breathing easyer but I don’t think it’s appropriate.
Also mostly late evening and night, I feel lungs full of mucus and during the daytime I’ve to clear my nose often.

I have really bad soreness in my mouth, gums, and teeth. I wouldn’t say it is excruciating pain, just feels real sore like someone has punched me in the mouth. I have had some real bad acid reflux recently as I am of all medication due to having to take a h-pylori breath test very soon. Anyone else with reflux have this problem???
