Well they make prevacid, but I would just take pepcid for a couple weeks. What really helps is not overeating and watch out what you eat. Just stick healthy foods, and keep away from high acid foods for a couple weeks along with any kind of spicy foods. Eat very strictly for a month and after that you can start trying to eating some spicy foods but do it gradually. You should still try to eat healthy for the majority of the time. Thats what will keep it from coming back. Plus you stay in good shape too. Don’t take any kind of ant acid to long, it caused me to get food poisoning twice due to low acid to break down food in your stomach.
Sounds like GERD (Acid Reflux). Zantac (Ranitidine) and Protonix (pantoprazole) can help. You can get these over the counter, but you may want to go see a doctor to be sure. He also can give you something stronger if you need it.
Acid reflux is caused when your stomachs digestive acids make their way up into the esophagus. If you suffer from acid reflux on a regular basis, there is a chance that it may be the result of another more serious condition called gastroesophogeal reflux disease. See your doctor, and in the meantime take Myalanta effervescent tablets dissolved in water.
Make sure that you don’t eat anything within a few hours of going to bed. Your meals should be small — eat more frequently if needed — don’t eat huge meals. Try to eliminate fatty foods. If you keep having problems keep a food diary to figure out what foods are causing you the problem so that you can stop eating them. Often liquor is a trigger, you may have to reduce it or cut it out. If after making these lifestyle changes you still experience problems see your doctor.
