Can acid reflux medicine cause weight gain?
I just started taking it yesterday and haven’t noticed anything but I thought about it and am kind of worried. I take pepcid and it’s supposed to reduce acid in my stomach because my throat has started closing up from swelling from the acid. It’s not a direct side affect of the medication but since it’ll be reducing my stomach acid will I digest things slower? Will that cause weight gain? Or will I just be hungry less often because the food will be there longer? Also, I haven’t almost suffocated while exercising today and it has no other side affect that I have to worry about and my voice is stronger. (Swelling in my vocal cords too) But weight gain is much worse than the affects because I work hard to stay healthy and I could easily just take extra breaks during exercise to avoid throat problems.
