Ever since I started drinking I’ve noticed that I get this burn in my stomach. I don’t get it from beer or champagne but I get it from any other drink. It can be wine, vodka, rum, whiskey, mixed drinks, anything except beer and champagne. It normally comes when I have my second shot or drink.
Its a deep burn in my stomach. It kinda feels like a combination of pressure and acid. It almost feels as if I’ve downed acid and it’s just sitting in my stomach. I’ve been told that it’s from not eating before I drink, but I do eat. I’ve eaten entire meals before drinking and it doesn’t help. It lasts for about fifteen to thirty minutes and it hurts. I’ve ended up doubled over in pain before from it. The only thing that I’ve found that helps is if I eat graham crackers when I start feeling the burn and if I stop drinking. If I continue to drink after it goes away then I have to continue to eat graham crackers or the burn will come back. Most of the time I end up breathing out heavily from my mouth as if I can almost breathe it out but it doesn’t help.

It doesn’t have to be a difficult process for you to determine what acid reflux treatment will work for you. Actually most treatments are just simple changes to your diet and lifestyle. Every once in a while, someone may require heavier medication but the average person can manage their acid reflux fairly simply. So how do you know which treatments are right for you? When you first start to experience the symptoms of this disorder, talk to your doctor. Your doctor can determine the best treatments for you to try after some simple tests. Try some of these options first.
One of the simplest treatments is to change your diet. Due to the fact that certain foods are naturally acidic, eating these foods can cause a build up of stomach acid. Spicy foods, in particular, are terrible for people who suffer from acid reflux.

Recent evidence suggests that drinking coffee and alcohol probably does not cause acid reflux. In other words, if you don’t already have acid reflux or heartburn, coffee and alcohol will not induce these conditions.
However — as many people who suffer from heartburn know — coffee and alcohol can have an adverse effect on their digestive system.

everyday for about 4 years I have felt high, but I’ve had no drugs or alcohol. In the last year it’s escalated, I’m now experiencing sensitivity to light and noises. My eyes feel tired.Slight pain in my jaws. Seen Doc’s had (mri’s) they all said I’m fine except for acid reflux. But I still feel like crap. Can anyone solve this mystery?

My teeth are eroding fairly fast and I don’t drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. I don’t eat too many acidic foods either. The dentist thought I might have acid reflux, but the doctor told me that I didn’t. Are some people’s teeth just plain weaker than others?

I am a 24 yr old female and I have experienced severe left chest pain for the past four years. It comes on primarily with alcohol. I know I shouldn’t even be drinking but I think I am ok then it hits almost immediately after. Stress, salt, sugar, and other factors can bring this kind of pain on too. Sometimes it radiates into my left arm. I am frustrated because I have seen a cardiologist about it and my primary doctor and had tests but neither seem to concerned. They have said it’s a pulled muscle, acid reflux and my most recent diagnosis: asthma and i have no cough!..
The pain wakes me up in the night or morning sometimes. I feels like blood is being blocked off in a horrific squeezing sensation under my left breast bone. I am scared because my EKG and ECCO and Stress test doesn’t show anything too abnormal except Mitral Valve Prolapse….Should I go to another Cardiologist for a 2nd opinion or is it just a waste? I really don’t know what to do because I feel like I am too young to deal with this regular weekly pain after four years. When the pain comes on it’s excruciating and i just have to wait out the pain. Thank you to anybody for feedback and advice.

Everytime i drink alcohol, i have SEVERE pains in my stomach, pain where i can barely stand it. I have a high pain tolerance, but this…actually brings me to my knees and crying. Why is this?…Is there anyway you can be allergic to alcohol?…i used to drink at least one to two drinks everynight for 6-7 months straight, and then stopped for a couple. Recently, i had a party and had vodka, BAD stomach pains, couldnt go to the bathroom…curled up in a ball with pain everynight for about a week from that night on…went to the ER and they said it was acid reflux……..Tonight, i had 2 smirnoffs and i ran home in pain because i thought it was going to be another one of those ER trip nights…i went to the bathroom and…now im fine…WTF…is going on with me and alcohol lately?…Im only 20…….is this the end of my drinking “career”? …………Please help!!!!
