Certain food and drinks can add to the problem of acid reflux. How do we know which acid reflux foods not to eat and what ones are unlikely to cause reflux to flare up? The best way to be certain if a particular food is causing an attack of reflux, is to keep a list of the foods you eat and drink. Also, record any symptoms you have during this period. A food that causes excess stomach acid in one person may not cause it in someone else. Keeping a record will help you determine the foods you need to avoid in order to control your acid reflux. There are certain foods that are more likely to cause reflux than others are.

Acid reflux, like any other dietary disease, has no simple and easy cure. Moderation is usually the best remedy for dietary diseases or disorders. Perhaps it would be good to shed some light on occurrence of acid reflux within the body. Acid reflux or heartburn in layman’s terms happens when the stomach content in the body is too acidic and is subsequently sent back the reversed way to the esophagus.
The walls of the esophagus are designed to withstand neutral content and will cause pain and inflammation when acidic content is in contact with it. It can be liken to swallowing corrosive acid.

Acid reflux is a disease that occurs when stomach acids containing pepsin abnormally reflux back to the esophagus, which cause irritation. If left untreated, it will take a very long time before the esophagus completely heals. Worse, it will develop into ulcer and some form of cancer.
There are many ways to avoid acid reflux. Food, for example, should be given so much attention because the food and drinks you consume affect how often you get acid reflux attacks. There are certain food groupd that are highly acidic and are high in fat, and you must avoid them, because they make the digestive system work harder and increase the acid supply in the body.
