Patients who suffer from GERD and acid reflux normally undergo a regimen of drugs initially. Aside from the cost of undergoing this treatment method, there may be side-effects and health risks in taking prescription medicine.
In most cases, severe forms of GERD may require surgery to correct the problem. When left unchecked, GERD may cause serious complications to the esophagus ranging from infections and inflammation to more serious problems like cancer.

Ok so I get pretty bad nasaue, it’s usally really bad when I have to leave the house. But If I’m at home I’m pretty much better, but nt as good. still when I eat I get it, but it’s worst when I leave. like friday at school I woke up felt sick then when I got to school I was fine, then the nasuea came and left came and left. And so on. I went to the specialist and he was like take this acid reflux pill it helped a little, but not that much. But he said it would help if I had a bacteria infection in my stomach but that test won’t be finished until Monday. but Wat if that test fails wat else could it be. I know it’s not reflux because with the diet and the pills it hasn’t gotten that much better

I had tonsilitis about three months ago. It was the second time I’d had tonsilitis in three years. After the first time, my singing voice returned to normal, pretty much as soon as the infection cleared up. However this time, my singing voice has not returned to the same strength as before.
Now when I sing, my voice feels strained in no time at all, it generally takes more effort and the sound isn’t as nice. Somedays my tonsils do still feel a bit swollen and I have noticed that my nose is clogged up with phlegm or mucous. I have never had problems with my sinuses before so I am beginning to think I have some sort of throat infection or an acid reflux problem. However, my diet is not full of very acidic foods and I drink a lot of water and herbal teas everyday, so i really don’t know what has happened!

I have battled a sinus infection for awhile now, i finally went into the doctor who prescribed an antibiotic that has given me pretty bad acid reflux. i finally went back in on monday and was prescribed Aciphex once a day and sulfacrate four times a day to coat my stomach. She said i could still take pepcid twice a day also. it’s not going away. i realize this takes time, but it’s worse at night. i went to bed last night (on the couch because that seems to be the only place i can sleep right now.) and i woke up an hour later hurting so bad. I chew lots of gum drink loads of water and am keeping to a pretty bland diet, no pop, spicy or fried and no seasonings. does anyone out there have any ideas or alternatives for some relief?
thank you so much!

The inflammation of the esophagus caused by the regurgitation of the content of the stomach is known as acid reflux or reflux esophagitis. The most recognized symptom of acid reflux is heartburn. The acid from the stomach backs up into the esophagus causing the person to experience heartburn. The medications or treatment of acid reflux is based only on the control of the acid. The effects of these medicines are shorter, requiring the patient to take the medicine with two to three hours interval only.
Acid reflux remedies are increasing and are classified as natural or synthetic. Drugs are sometimes not necessary to solve the problem of acid reflux. According to some, medicine does not solve the problem of acid reflux. The fact is it actually makes the condition worst. Proton pump inhibitors, H2 block agents, and antacids are some of the treatments used to cure acid reflux. To explain further, drugs reduce the amount of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Because of this, it diminishes the ability of the stomach to digest food properly. As the stomach acid reduces, the risk of food poisoning is higher. This is because the defense mechanism of the body against food borne infections is also reduced. Improper digestion of food would increase the risk of having chronic degenerative diseases.
