Do I stay away from deccafinated coffee and tea with acid reflux?

I am taking medication for acid reflux and they reccomend stating away from coffee and tea. Does this include decaffinated drinks???

I also have acid reflux and can relate. It is recommended to stay from coffee because of the acid it contains. I drink my coffee in moderation, maybe twice a week. I have no problems with tea, regular or decaf. Other foods to avoid is chocolate, citrus, anything tomato based as they contain acid. As far as the medication is concerned, they actually do more harm than good, but of course your doctor won’t tell you that. They actually drain the acid out of your stomach and you need the acid to properly digest your food. I take acidopholus, which is found at your local health food store or in yogurt. A banana is also good to settle your stomach. This also works but people find it hard to believe. Take 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons all natural honey or maple syrup, and 1 pack of sweetner, preferably stevia. Stay away from splenda, equal, and sweet & low. Drink this once or twice a day and you will have less symptoms. I hope this helps.
