I found Alexander Technique helpful
but it depends on cause of reflux.

Make sure you don’t have the H Pylori bacteria. If not, then chew your food thorougly, try apple cider vinegar before meals to digest food, don’t eat when stressed, don’t overeat. You can also try digestive enzyme supplements which are made from plants and are an excellent remedy to prevent acid reflux.

TUMS are 100% calcium. No chemicals or medications.
try ditching any milk and dairy products for a few days ……… that may alleviate the nasty pain of acid reflux for you ……. lactose intolerance will produce acid reflux, achy bones, bloating and constipation, excessive belching, excessive gas, ribbony and stringy shaped stools, wet f*arting (sorry, no other way to put it) ……. and also indirectly cause mood swings, headaches and migraines, insomnia ….. in the meantime, put a teaspoon full of baking soda into a mug full of warm water, stir up and drink up …… be prepared to belch loudly and for the pain to increase a little for a few minutes but it will realkalise your system and quell the pain for you…….. baking soda does contain an awful lot of processed salt so it wouldn’t be appropriate if you have high blood pressure …. otherwise, only use it as a temporary measure and try to pinpoint what is causing the bad digestion …… bad digestion is the source of your acid reflux……. increase the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy by chowing down on more leafy and green vegies like broccolli, kale, chard, celery, buk choy ………. juice up some celery with a peeled lime or apple for flavor if you don’t like eating your greens… all rich in magnesium (known as the antistress mineral) and calcium so also great for brain frizz, stress and anxiety, constipation, insomnia ………. ;0)
drink loads of fresh filtered water too buddy to ensure you are properly hydrated …. your lungs need water to breath, your joints need water to lubricate them, your digestive system needs water to digest food, your brain needs it to think…….. every single cellular function your body performs needs water ……. drink up and ditch the sodas, pop and soft drinks if you drink any cos they’ll all dehydrate you terribly and keep your body in an acid condition ……… promoting bad digestion.

Avoid acidic foods
Acid reflux and heartburn are 2 different things. The following suggestions could work for both but I agree with the other poster. Heartburn and ulcers are often caused by a bacteria called h pylori and can be treated with an antibiotic and the whole problem ended.
1.do not eat anything spicy or drink anything carbonated for at least 3-4 hours before bed.
2. raise the head end of your bed by4-5 inches. Do NOT use extra pillows. That doesn’t work as well as a couple of blocks of wood under the legs of the head end of your bed.
3. eat yogurt often. It just seems to help lots of stomach issues and tends to cool a wild stomach.
4. Drink chamomile tea before bed. It is soothing and a digestive aid.
My daughter has acid reflux and these 4 things have made her life sooooo much easier. she also uses the generic version of Prilosec with good results.
