Cut down on the sweets.
Either you are diabetic, or you’re not.
Type one means you’ve had it since birth. Type 2 you can develope from eating way too many sweets. Save yourself a lot of trouble and stay away from the candy and ice cream. It’s a lot better for you in the long run anyway, and sodas. Sodas are your worst enemy.
Don’t eat anything spicy, hot and acidic: cut down on meat products, most of diary, and sugary foods. You need healthy starches, like corn, bean, whole rice, whole wheat, and whole grains. Eat lots of vegetables, cooked is preferable since it is easy to digest, and mineral absorption is easier. Eat fruits in moderation; the best ones with low sugar content are apples, all berries, plums. Stay away from diary and meat. The only diary you can eat is NON FAT plain yogurt, and NON FAT milk. Most meats are acidic and difficult to digest. If you do, eat fish, that’s the easiest to digest, and passes through your tracks quickly. No cheese and bread together, it will shoot up your blood sugar!
Also, since you are borderline diabetic, always have breakfast, and after that eat a little in every 2-3 hours to keep blood sugar at a low level. Do not ever overeat; that will cause both acid reflux, and will shoot up your bloodsugar sky high. Avoid fats; they break down into sugar in your system.
