One of the main causes of AR is the fact that the muscle that keeps the acid down is weak. When you drink, your muscles are relaxed even further, so that just exacerbates the problem, which makes it seem like it’s a cause.
So, Yes?
acid reflux has many causes, but one involves the sphincter muscle which opens and closes to let food into your stomach from your oesophagus. For some people, this muscles can open at the wrong times, or become slack allowing acid from the stomach to move up into the oesophagus (which isnt protected like the stomach) and causes a burning sensation. alcohol is one major contributer to acid reflux and the associated condition gastro oesophageal relflux disease (GORD) as it causes further relaxation of the sphincter thus more problems.
