Is it me or my multi-vitamin?
I used to take a multivitamin everyday in the morning like clockwork. After some stressful experiences (which I’m still dealing with) in the past year, I find that if I have the same brand of No-name multivitamin in the morning, I get really queasy and want to hurl. This feeling doesn’t go away until about Noon.
Even if I have breakfast, then the same thing happens. So I have been taking them at dinner and I don’t have any probs. But during dinner time, I tend to forget to take them.
1) Is it my system?
2) Should I change up to brand name multivitamins?
3) Will this all change when the stressful stuff is over?
4) Is this ulcer or acid reflux related?
Please avoid suggesting I go to some health food store because I find their stuff SO expensive.

It could be a number of things. Multivitamins are chock full of metals and other things that your stomach isn’t used to having to process raw. If you don’t have an ulcer now, if your body struggles to break it down you might get one. Try coating your system with a glass of milk or soymilk while you take the pill.
I had this problem too,
It could be many things i find taking them too early makes me queazy could be to much for your body to handle so early on i guess. I find that poor quality i.e. value brands made me ill try and spend a few pennies more to get a brand name you know and trust if you can, if not just try taking it later on.
Also perhaps the Ones you chew or dilute in water may be easier for your stomach to handle?
It’s the vitamin. The same thing happens to me. I’ve been advised by a doctor that it’s actually better to take your multi vitamin before bed. Try that.
The same thing happened to me when I started taking a certain type of multivitamin. Sometimes there is too much of certain minerals or vitamins in the multivitamin and your body doesn’t react to the overload very well. In my case they actually made me vomit about a half hour after I took them. One of the best things that you can do is make sure that you take the vitamin with food- but since you mentioned that it still makes you sick I have also been told to cut the vitamin in half and take half in the morning and half at night. This way you do not overload yourself and you do not end up wasting much of the multivitamin. Also, if you do it this way you are still getting at least half of what you need for the day, even if you forget at night. Hope this helps.
Sometimes the no-name brands tend to have lower quality ingredients, or you could be right that it could be stress.
I find that for me vitamins that contain iron tend to give me an upset stomach, so perhaps you can switch to a brand of multi-vitamin that does not contain minerals for a short time.
OR, if the bottle of vitamins you have is a large one, perhaps the expiration date has passed.
And as for brand-name vitamins, there are some studies that show that they tend to have consistent levels of ingredients in them from batch to batch. The extra money they charge tends to be worth it.
