i’ve been having chest pains and heartburn for a month, first the doctor said it was bacteria in my stomach then the test came through and it wasn’t so my mom thought it was something with my gall bladder but we didn’t see any gall stones. so i’m wondering if i should ask if it could be a.r.d. but i want to know the symptoms first.
Went to the Doctors five times in the last week for same pain. the pain is in my lower left abdomin…first she thought it was a virus, but i am not getting better, then she thought it was mono or dehydration but the lab results were normal, now she seems to think it is acid reflux. the thing is my stomache itself does not hurt, its lower. the pain comes and goes. when i have the pain i cant get comfortable and it feels like someone is twisting my insides. My doctor has prescribed me medication for acid reflux but i dont think i have it. any suggestions?
I’ve been told by my doc to lay off coffee and tea and fruit juices and I’m drinking lots of water while I have this acid reflux, but it there any drinks I can take? I have managed my diet okay,but i’m finding just drinking water a drag. Anyone have any ideas?

I have been in pain since 2am this morning with my acid reflux it still hasn’t gone and its now 5.30pm and I havn’t eaten today. I have had symptoms of a cold/fever for the last couple of days – would this be whats causing my acid reflux to be worse – Ive also taken a double dose of omeprazole with no effect. Thanks.
I was rather unofficially diagnosed with acid reflux about 6 or 7 years ago, when I was in high school. I’m now 23 and I’ve been taking various acid reflux medications off and on since then. My main symptom has never so much been heartburn (though I do have that on occasion) but mainly coughing after I eat, and a general tightness in my abdomen. I also have always gotten full fairly easily, but lately it seems like it might be getting worse. Just now I grabbed some fast food for dinner on my way home from work. It came with four chicken strips, french fries, and a piece of Texas toast. I’ve eaten the toast, maybe 3/4 of the fries, and one of the chicken strips and I feel incredibly full- almost painfully full. My chest just feels tight. I had intended to at least try to eat a second chicken strip but I honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to. Aside from the annoyance of not being able to eat as much food as I would like to, this does have me somewhat concerned about how much I’m eating or rather not eating. I’m 5′ 4″ and about 120 pounds, but I’m concerned about the effect that not being able to eat very much at a time might have on my health. I’m currently taking Omeprazole which I believe is the over the counter version of Prilosec. I tried the over the counter version of Prevacid and Prevacid itself, and neither seemed to help at all. I was on Protonix forever which seemed to help well enough but then I graduated college and lost health insurance and there’s no over the counter version of that that I’m aware of. Any suggestions from people who have acid reflux or have some medical knowledge? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: Also, I did go to a doctor about 8 months ago and ask if it was ok to take my medicine for longer than 14 days (since I had noticed said warning label on the boxes/bottles) and he said it was fine.
