Although we would all like to believe that there is only one cause for many medical conditions we suffer from, in all actuality there are usually more than one cause for specific conditions.

Then we have all of the prescription medications, over the counter medications and other remedies for acid reflux that cause us some confusion. With all of the causes and remedies many people become overly frustrated, understandably and with cause.

Here are some of the most common reasons or causes for acid reflux:

Never Feel good Please Help!!?

Hello

I wonder if you can give me some advice. I am having several health problems and so far my doctors have no answers. I think they all think that I’m a hypochondriac. I have been very concerned lately and have had some anxiety over this but now I’m no longer suffering from anxiety I just want answers

I am a smoker and have smoked since I was 18. I have made many attempts to quit but am so weak with this. I am 33 years old, Male and work a somewhat stressful job in NYC. I have had IBS for about 3 years which was not officially diagnosed until recently. About a year ago I had a urinary tract infection and I noticed while on the antibiotic I got this pressure under my ribs and shortness of breath. I did some online research and read that the antibiotic (Levequin) filters through the lungs and I figured that was the problem. About a week after finishing the meds the feeling went away.

I have suffered from asthma since I was 11. I am posting this as a way of helping so many of you who are suffering from asthma on here.

There’s a great book called Reversing Asthma by a doctor who suffers from asthma himself. (name is Richard n Firshein)

Also a great website I’ve bought products from in the past www.allergyasthmatech.com.

I am a 24 year old female. Since beginning of July I’ve been having pains in my LEFT kidney. It was nothing terrible just a faint numbness. I just rubbed it and slept on my right side and it would usually go away. A week ago the pain in my LEFT kidney radiates to my LEFT shoulder blade and the faint pain stays there. Plus the pain got worse. Yesterday I got a pain on my RIGHT ovary… that pain for the most part went away. TODAY I have pain on my RIGHT kidney and the pain radiates to my RIGHT shoulder blade. NOW both sides are hurting. It’s a faint numbness that gets to a sharp pain for a few seconds. If I take a deep breath I feel the pain in my back. Today I am also getting acid reflux with it. FYI my pee is normal. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow but people are telling me it’s my kidneys, gallbladder, stones, ovary infection, mini heart attacks or just bad gas. What do I believe??? I know I will get an answer tomorrow but I’m scared as hell now and want a better educated idea on what might be going wrong here. I take vitamins every morning, drink lots of water, and don’t have a bad diet (I’ve actually lost a lot of weight recently). Please help!

I am a 25 year old Male. For approximately a month and 1/2 I have had some sort of digestive problem. It started with acid reflux, which I have never had prior to this problems beginning. I went through a short period of vomiting in the morning due to unsettled stomach. I have weighed 195 pounds since the age of 16 until quite recently, I now weigh closer to 225. I sought the help of my doctor but he could not pin point it and sent me off with medication for a Giardia infection. (Hasn’t helped). I have had no change in diet, activity levels, life in general. If there is more information needed to help me please feel free to ask.

If you’re seeking acid reflux help, one of the first things to realize is that being overweight or obese, even by few pounds, can increase your risk of acid reflux; increase the number of attacks you experience, increase the number and severity of symptoms, add to your risk of developing a hiatus hernia, and can make acid reflux generally a more debilitating condition. But how do you know if you are overweight or obese? How do you know how much weight you need to lose to receive meaningful acid reflux relief?

The first thing you should understand is the difference between being overweight and being obese and what each of these terms really means. Overweight is a term used by doctors and health professionals in order to identify if a person has excessive body weight including fat, muscle, water, and bone. On the other hand, obesity is a condition that refers specifically to an excess amount of fat in the body. It is therefore possible to be overweight without being obese, such as in the case of bodybuilders and some muscular athletes.
