Question by SephiesMom24: I think I have Celiac disease. What are the first steps I need to take. What are safe foods to eat?
For about 6 months I have had digestive problems. Diarrhea on a daily basis especially after a meal. Upper abdominal pain, which I thought was acid reflux. Lots of burping and gas/bloating. And my hands have been breaking out with these little water filled itchy blisters. =( Doctor diagnosed me with IBS with diarrhea. She gave me dicyclomine which didn’t do diddley squat, then metrononazole because she thought it might me an infection but nothing has helped I am so tired of suffering. Has anyone else had similar symptoms and been diagnosed with celiac. Also any idea on what kind of diet i need to follow and how do you tell if food has gluten in it. Thanks

Is An Acid Reflux Diet What You Need?

Is An Acid Reflux Diet What You Need?

Article by Tom Houser

There are certain foods that may cause acid reflux that’s why it is important to keep a proper acid reflux diet. Many people do not realize that it’s not just the esophageal structure that causes it but also the food that one eats. So, the first step to avoiding complications is to avoid these foods at all costs.Just like in allergies, there are certain foods that may trigger the health condition but it varies depending on every individual. In a proper diet, it’s not just what food to partake but what other foods to avoid as well. Here’s a list of some of the most common foods that you need to abstain or avoid in eating so you can’t trigger or worsen the acid reflux in you.Be sure to avoid high fat foods such as those that are fried, dairy products and others that have high fat content. Refrain from drinking soda because it will only increase the acids in your stomach and increases the pain once it travels back in the esophagus. Foods that are naturally acidic should be avoided such as lemons, grapefruits and oranges because they only contribute to the build up of acid reflux.A proper acid reflux diet also includes abstaining from eating garlic-filled food because it weakens the esophangeal sphincter muscle, which helps to push the food into the stomach.Even chocolate may help weaken the muscle. So be ready to refrain from eating those foods that are too sweet and too spicy. Changing your lifestyle and choice of food will help prevent acid reflux. Still there are other foods to be avoided so you can increase the chances building up or developing acid reflux. Be sure not to over eat because you will only ruin all your other efforts in avoiding or worsening your acid reflux. It may be wise to consult with a doctor prior to beginning an acid reflux diet.

How To Decide Which Acid Reflux Cure You Need?

You can get a cure from your stomach, because it knows how to give an acid reflux cure. Ideally, the stomach would maintain an acid condition of 1 to 3 pH. When this changes to a lower acid pH, like 3.5, this is when your stomach problems begin. Eating a variety of food and drinking various liquids during your meal can change your stomach pH. If your stomach pH moves higher than pH 3.0, this can lead to acid reflux.

Diseases like acid reflux or just stomach upsets occur when you eat a poor diet or eat improperly. This causes your stomach to distort its functions, the function of the surround valves which control the movement of food moving in and out of the your stomach, and the acid secretions from its walls.

I need to use acronyms and abbreviations associated with medical terminology. The SOAP note is about a 30 year old female exhibiting signs of acid reflux disease. In addition, are there any good websites that have acronyms and abbreviaitons associated with medical terminology? PLEASE HELP! This is really confusing for me. I understand some acromyns and abbreviations but some have different meanings. Thank you!

Female Problems..And I need help, please?!?

HISTORY
I’m 18. I have a 10 month old child. I have postpartum thyroiditis, and acid reflux. I take 1 levothyroxine (20mg) a day and 1 omeprazole (20mg) 2 times a day.

PROBLEM
Since the day I found out I was pregnant I’ve had a whiteish discharge. Sometimes it’s thick and mocusy, but sometimes it’s runny. Sometimes it’s just a little at a time, but sometimes it seems like it will never stop. At times, I can wipe and wipe, but it still covers the toilet paper. It burns and itches sometimes. But maybe that’s due to wear a pad everyday for the past 18 months. Here lately, though, it smells horrible- even though I shower regularly. And there’s this white stuff on the outside, around my vagina and stuff. It sorta looks like toilet paper rolled up, but it’s there a lot. I’ve even noticed it at the top, in that little “A” thing. If it pull it back a little it’s there.

I’d like some help… and if I can add anything else, that would help, let me know.. My doctor is a long drive, but I have been putting it off for a while..
Any help will do.. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for all the answers. :) I’m definitely making me an appointment tomorrow, but I thought it would ease my mind getting a few maybes and could be’s. :)

Symptoms of acid reflux? Need help/suggestions?

I believe I may have acid reflux, but I don’t know. The doctor was checking for heart problems, but did not find any there, and I don’t think she’s a good doctor so I’m trying to find a new one (but until then) I would like to know others who have experienced any forms of acid reflux. What did it feel like, symptons, what did you go through? Chest pains? Trouble breathing? Anything you can tell me that was in your diagnosis.

Cutesy/smart alec remarks won’t be read and probably just forwarded onto Yahoo so don’t bother, I need assurances and suggestions to help the diet and see if I may have similar problems as you- and yes I will be seeing a doctor ASAP.

I want to make sure he gets fruits and veges etc, but don’t want to make his reflux worse. some additional info- his current pediatriction was kind of dismissive when I told him I thought he had reflux– “all babies spit up, blah blah blah”– I’m moving go a new city in 2 weeks and will be looking for a new dr there.. in the meantime, I’m looking for advice on what foods to give him that will ease his stomach, but still help him progress to new levels of food. (i have some reflux, and my husband has very severe reflux and has to see a dr regularly @ it, so, yes, I’m pretty confident that is what his problem is.) appreciate any great food ideas. thanx!

I need a recipe for Easter dinner?

Usually my husband and I go visit his parents for Easter but there is so much going on this month (and were traveling alot already this month). We decided that were just going to stay home for Easter. I promised my husband that I would make a Easter dinner for the two of us. Now I’m just trying to figure out what to make. Does anyone have any recipe ideas or suggestions of what I could make for our Easter dinner?

The recipe cannot have cheese, cream cheese, cottage cheese, tomatoes, peppers and the recipe cannot be spicy cause I have acid reflux along with other digestive and gastrointestinal problems.
