Acid reflux is a condition where gastric juices containing acid travel back from the stomach into the esophagus (gullet or swallowing tube). Acid reflux is also the cause of heartburn and in severe cases, this can be very troublesome, it can last several months or longer if not treated. Acid reflux is mainly caused due to regurgitation or refluxing of partly digested food back to esophagus. Acid reflux is a chronic condition which if not treated properly in early stages it can lead to several other severe complications. Foods that neutralize stomach acid?

I am on acid-free diet so i can cure my acid reflux and heal my esphogas
But since I’ve had acid reflux for over 40 years just avoiding foods isn’t helping and
I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE DRUGS-
i heard papaya neutralizes stomach acid
is there any other foods or healthy drinks you know that do

i avoid caffeine- never drink the stuff anyway- and sodas and fatty food, etc…
the problem is milk make mucus so not sure that’s the best to take like before bed- but thanks i will try it during the day
i can’t eat crzckers much i have celiacs- so i eat gluten-free pretzels- i have noticed i lost a little weight since i started my acid-free diet- since i have to avoid fats

It bad in the morning.
What should I eat/avoid in the morning?
What should I eat/avoid at night?

Don’t say take drugs…I know that but I want to know about foods. Thanks peeps.

Mysterious Instant Stomach Troubles

Going to be as brief as possible: 21, male, healthy. Large build 230, 6’2. Drank wine a bit consistently for 5-6 months, no problems. Drank other hard liquor in the past, no problems. Tried Gin on June 6th, half a bottle (Seagram’s Extra Dry mixed with lemon juice and ginger ale..I don’t usually mix, was doing so for fun). Immediately noticed I had to keep taking deep breaths/out of breath sensation, stopped. Not sure if the Japanese food (sushi etc.) could’ve had an impact. Drank Jack Daniels and rot gut vodka before, so it was not a matter of tolerance or alcohol exposure.

Next day woke up to a feeling below the throat, felt like a constant need to cough. Went to the doctor…EKG, Chest X-Ray, Barium Swallow, Spirometer/Flow Meter (lung test), Gallbladder Liver scan, all negative. Endoscopy showed a very very small 3-4 cm sliding hiatal hernia, deemed asymptomatic (does not produce symptoms) as it was so small it didn’t even show on the Barium Swallow X-ray. Endoscopy showed no irritation, irregularities or inflammation. Allergy tests showed nothing, Clarinex did nothing.

I am 16 years old. I weigh 132 lbs and i am 5’3. I’ve been working out with my mom on and off for about a year. I used to cheerlead, so my thighs are pretty big. My stomach is the only thing i wish was littler. My upper abs are tight, but i have a little pudge. I just want to put on a pair of jeans and not have my love handles and stomach hang over a little bit. I have no idea what cardio works best. I’ve been going to the gym a lot and i usually do 30-45 minutes on the elliptical and i lift on other days. I play dance dance revolution alot also. I eat pretty healthy, due to acid reflux disease. I have to watch my diet. I am going to the beach in 3 weeks, and i wanted to know if anyone knew how to lose a little bit of weight, and what to do? I also dont understand the “burn more calories than you eat” thing. When i goto the gym i burn atleast 350, but my diet is around 1300 calories. Can someone please explain to me how many calories do i need to burn to achieve my goal by july 21st?
i also drink alot of water.. i am willing to follow a perfect schedule.. so please e mail me what had worked for you.

What’s wrong with my stomach?

Ok so I get pretty bad nasaue, it’s usally really bad when I have to leave the house. But If I’m at home I’m pretty much better, but nt as good. still when I eat I get it, but it’s worst when I leave. like friday at school I woke up felt sick then when I got to school I was fine, then the nasuea came and left came and left. And so on. I went to the specialist and he was like take this acid reflux pill it helped a little, but not that much. But he said it would help if I had a bacteria infection in my stomach but that test won’t be finished until Monday. but Wat if that test fails wat else could it be. I know it’s not reflux because with the diet and the pills it hasn’t gotten that much better
