Acid reflux is a most common digestive problem caused by the reflux of digestive liquid containing pepsin from stomach to esophagus and it is also known as heartburn and GERD. Pepsin is responsible for damaging the esophagus and stomach. The common symptoms of acid reflux include burning sensation in the esophagus and difficulty in breathing and if allowed for a longer period acid reflux can cause ulcer. I am breastfeeding exclusively and really plan/want to continue. I can’t think of anything that I am eating (if that is a proven theory) that would be causing this problem. Best I can tell, she is having huge pockets of air in her tummy (even after 30 mins of burping her) and she makes these grunting noises for hours until she finally gets it up and then spits up. …OR….she just starts making a noise like she is going to spit up and then projectile pukes to the point even of “heaving” like an adult would do. She doesnt cry when it happens, so I would assume that it’s not acid reflux like many have suggested. I have tried changing my diet some…but can’t narrow it down. I am thinking of switching to drinking soy milk myself just in case something in regular milk is bothering her. I have tried a number of things that I didnt even list here…and am willing to try pretty much anything.
